» The Ethos Of Ysgol Bro Preseli
High standards of discipline are maintained in the school based on agreed values. We believe that pupils have a sense of self-discipline and a responsible attitude.
As the school is an officially bilingual school, parents and pupils are expected to have a passion for education through the medium of Welsh.
We expect pupils to show respect and pride in the Welsh language by using the language regularly inside and outside the classroom.
We try to instil pride in the pupils for the language, culture, history and heritage of Wales.
We do our best to instil in the pupils a sense of respect for people and for people’s property so that we have a civilised and tolerant society. We also try to foster pupils’ personal qualities such as courtesy, honesty, perseverance, and a sense of conscience.
The importance of providing equal opportunities for all children regardless of ability, gender, age or linguistic background is emphasised.
High standards of discipline are maintained in the school and this is reflected in the appearance and behaviour of pupils. We believe that the most effective way to discipline is by fostering self-discipline and a responsible attitude.
The school has a family atmosphere with close co-operation and cooperation between staff (teachers, administrative staff, kitchen staff), pupils and parents/guardians. There is a strong PTA and any activities that are organised are particularly well supported.
The school is a community school, with the community making extensive use of the school in the evenings along with the school using the community as a source to enrich the children’s education.
The school aims to do our utmost to ensure that every child reaches his/her true potential – academically, socially and in terms of personal development – in a multilingual community.
